Photos of Béla Bartók Transcriptions

In 1940, the great composer and musicologist Béla Bartók came to the United States and transcribed many of the melodies of the songs in the Milman Parry Collection. Read Bartók's 1942 letter to the New York Times about the importance of the Collection.
